The Auburn Tigers are dangerously thin across their defensive front. Can they find help in the transfer portal?

With all the blunders last season in the Tigers kicking game, Auburn football gained a commit from Southern Miss kicker Connor Gibbs out of the transfer portal. Last season, Gibbs connected on 10 of 13 field goal attempts and drilled three from 50+ yards.

Matt Campbell’s team played for the Big 12 title this season. The Cyclones have had nine players exit via the transfer portal, including productive edge rusher Kenard Snyder (8.5 sacks in three seasons) and linebacker Jacob Ellis, who started the first six games of the 2024 season.

Auburn football has signed former Texas A&M and Western Kentucky defensive lineman Dallas Walker IV out of the transfer portal. Walker, a 6-foot-4, 320-pound nose tackle, spent the past two seasons at WKU, finishing last year with 45 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception. He began his career at Texas A&M in 2020.

The Auburn Tigers added its first linebacker via the transfer portal, adding former LSU linebacker Xavier Atkins. According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Atkins will have three years of eligibility remaining and is yet to use his redshirt.

Auburn football just added one of the best wide receivers in the transfer portal. The Tigers already shocked the nation after signing former Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold a few days ago. The ex-5-star prospect gives the program hope that it can find some clear momentum in head coach Hugh Freeze’s third year.
