While many were out toasting to the new year, hospitals around New York area had a different type of celebration – welcoming new babies.

Just 15 minutes after the start of the new year, Central Jersey's first baby of 2025 arrived at Saint Peter’s University Hospital's Mary V. O’Shea Birth Center in New Brunswick at 12:15 a.m. to parents Becki and Tyler. The parents asked the hospital not to release their last names or hometown.

Baby Ameena entered the world at 9:25 a.m. on New Year’s Day in Wynn Hospital, the first baby to be born in an Oneida County hospital in 2025. Braxlyn Haig was born at 4:10 p.m. on Jan. 1, making her the New Year baby at Rome Health. She was born to Stacy Rosen and Frank Haig, of Boonville.

CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital reports that seven babies were born on January 1st alone. The family of the initial baby declined to give any details, but some information is coming out about Aubrey, who said hello at 1:34 a.m.
