A jury in U.S. federal court in Delaware on Friday said it was deadlocked on one of the questions that it has been asked to resolve in Arm Holdings' lawsuit against Qualcomm, but is still deliberating the two other questions before it.

Arm Holdings' lawsuit against Qualcomm ended on Friday with a jury delivering a mixed verdict that found for Qualcomm on a crucial issue, saying Qualcomm had properly licensed its central processor chips.

A federal jury in the United States on Friday delivered a key win to mobile commputing titan Qualcomm in a licensing dispute with Arm, although proceedings between the chipmakers ended in mistrial.

Arm's lawsuit against Qualcomm seemingly has failed as the latter was not found guilty of using Arm's tech without a proper license. However, the actual fate between the two companies remains unknown.

Qualcomm's innovative Snapdragon processors are properly licensed under an agreement with Arm Holdings, a jury found in a U.S. federal court trial that removed some, but not all, uncertainty around the San Diego-based company's expansion into the laptop market.

The jury sided with Qualcomm after Arm argued the chipmaker breached a licensing agreement through a $1.4 billion acquisition of Nuvia, but the case isn’t over yet.
