The Tigers (48-15) took two out of three games from the Razorbacks (48-13) earlier this season in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Arkansas is a perfect 5-0 in the NCAA baseball tournament, including sweeping SEC rival Tennessee in the Fayetteville Super Regional.

The Tigers got the win over their SEC rivals, and the Bruins put the Racers' Cinderella run one game away from ending.

LSU has the second-best odds after hammering West Virginia to reach Omaha. The Tigers have a great pedigree in the College World Series with seven national championships. Oregon State, Arizona, Coastal Carolina and UCLA have all reached college baseball's pinnacle since 2012.

On Friday afternoon, Rocco's Pizza & Cantina in Omaha, Nebraska posted a score update of its annual $5 Jell-o shot challenge that takes place at every College World Series. A purchased Jell-o shot adds points for each of the eight participating fanbases, and as of early Friday afternoon, LSU is in the lead with 943 points.

The LSU Tigers defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 4- 1 in the opening round of the 2025 College World Series. The tournament is in a double-elimination format, meaning Arkansas cannot lose another game. Arkansas will play next on Monday, June 16 at 6:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.
