Columbia University has temporarily banned pro-Israel professor Shai Davidai from campus for “repeatedly harassing and intimidating” school employees, according to a university spokesperson.

The university said Shai Davidai had repeatedly harassed and intimidated employees. He said the university had not done enough to crack down on pro-Palestinian protests.

On X, where he has more than 100,000 followers, Davidai has accused pro-Palestinian student groups of supporting terrorism.

Columbia University assistant professor Shai Davidai, who many pro-Palestine students have accused of harassment since the Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel, has had his campus access restricted for “repeatedly" harassing and intimidating university employees, the university told Middle East Eye.

Mr. Davidai maintains that he was temporarily suspended from campus because he wasn’t afraid 'to stand up to the hateful mob.'

The University spokesperson said that while Columbia respects freedom of speech, it cannot tolerate acts of harassment and intimidation.
