Trump’s team requested numerous high-level resignations from the State Department as the president-elect prepares to make a break with the Biden administration.

President Donald Trump's transition team asked more than a dozen senior career diplomats to step down from their roles, two U.S. officials familiar with the matter said, as the newly inaugurated president moves quickly to shape his foreign policy and the diplomatic corps.

The departures are common when a transition takes place, but it is now happening more quickly and on a larger scale than under previous administrations, a U.S. official said.
