The European Central Bank, which sets interest rates for the 20 countries that use the euro currency, is expected to cut borrowing costs once again on Thursday after figures showed inflation across the bloc falling to its lowest level in more than three years and economic growth waning.

The central bank of Denmark (Nationalbanken), hit its 2% inflation target without more-significant economic deceleration in 2024. Following the lead of the European Central Bank (ECB) on interest rates to prevent currency devaluation, the country started its monetary easing cycle in June, cutting interest rates by 0.25% then and again in September.

The ECB has already lowered rates twice this year and a cut to the 3.5% deposit rate on Oct. 17 is almost fully priced in by financial markets
