No details were yet available about damage from the Houthi attacks, which came hours after Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes on the Red Sea ports of Al-Hudaydah, Ras Issa, and al-Salif, a nearby power station, and the cargo ship Galaxy Leader in Yemen.

Sanaa: Yemen's Houthi armed forces claimed responsibility on Sunday morning for a "hypersonic ballistic missile" attack on Israel, which was reportedly intercepted earlier in the day by Israeli defence systems.

The Israeli military says the strikes were a response to attacks by the Houthis, who later launched two missiles towards Israel and the occupied West Bank.
