Maricopa County’s new supervisors called for another audit of the county’s elections, but sought to distance it from the notorious Cyber Ninjas review of 2020 results.

Maricopa County intends to form a committee to find a way to get a new National Hockey League team in the Valley. Supervisor Thomas Galvin made the announcement during the swearing in ceremony in downtown Phoenix for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. During the same meeting, Galvin was elected chairman of the board.

The Maricopa County Board held its first meeting of 2024, and chairman Thomas Galvin brought up his strategy for returning hockey to the Valley.

The newly elected Chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is working to bring professional hockey back to Arizona. He says he's had several conversations with the NHL Commissioner about finding an owner and arena location.

Maricopa County will form an advisory committee to explore options to bring hockey to the region after the Arizona Coyotes relocated last year.

It seems as though the dream just won't die, as a new Arizona state supervisor wants the NHL to once again return to the desert.
