Former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey on Wednesday rejoined five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians in a similar role ahead of the next season of the cash-rich league. The Mumbai franchise issued a statement on Tuesday saying that Paras will be working alongside current bowling coach and Sri Lankan icon Lasith Malinga in IPL 2025.

Paras Mhambrey, who played two Tests and three ODIs between 1996 and 1998, returns to the franchise in which he had previously served as assistant coach for a four-year period.

Mahela Jayawardene has made his return to Mumbai Indians as their head coach. The Sri Lankan legend coached MI from IPL 2017 to 2022 before becoming the head of all the franchises owned by the MI group.

Mhambrey represented Mumbai in domestic cricket and took part in 91 first-class matches, picking up 284 wickets and 83 List-A matches with 111 wickets.
