PORTLAND, ME (WGME) - A civil rights leader who became a trailblazer for social justice in Maine has passed away.

Gene C. Blue, a Phoenix civil rights leader and nonprofit CEO who helped thousands find jobs, has died. He was 86.

P.G. Peeples, 80, a Lexington civil rights leader, died Tuesday, April 28, at his office at the Urban League.
