For a small island that’s only 16-miles long you will find there are plenty of cool things to do on Ocracoke Island ... on Silver Lake Harbor with the view of the lighthouse in front of me.

It didn’t take me long to connect to the Ocracoke Island vibe ... taking up the periphery of my view quietly whispering, “let it all go, you’re on island time now.” True island time.

You'll also find Ocracoke Island farther south, but it's not as accessible and less visited. Every area has sparkling stretches of beaches and affords plenty of opportunities to take in the view ...
