Winter in New York can be fickle. One day it’s all glistening snow and cozy evenings by the fire, and the next it’s a bone-chilling blizzard that makes you want to stay huddled under the covers until spring.

The storm is expected to bring snow to northwestern Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania and New York and into New England. N.J.'s governor declared an emergency for some counties.
