By Rae Wee SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Asian stocks swung between gain and loss on Monday as investors struggled to reach a consensus view on China's broad economic stimulus promises made over the weekend which were light on specifics.

China said its day of war games around democratically governed Taiwan on Monday was a warning against "separatist acts" and threatened more could be in the offing, drawing condemnation from the governments of Taiwan and the United States.

Taiwan reported that China flew a record 111 warplanes across a US-drawn boundary in the strait separating the sides, underscoring the intensity of military pressure Beijing is placing on the democratically run government.

Taiwan has condemned the latest round of Chinese military drills around the island as an “unreasonable provocation” after Beijing deployed warships and fighter jets as a “stern warning” to “separatist acts of Taiwan independence forces.
