An updated wind advisory was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC on Tuesday at 3:33 a.m. in effect until 10 a.m. The advisory is for East Carteret, Ocracoke Island and Hatteras Island.

The NWS Newport/Morehead City NC issued a weather alert at 1:20 p.m. on Friday for fire danger until Saturday at 5 a.m. The alert is for Mainland Hyde, Northern Craven, Southern Craven, West Carteret,

Across Eastern N.C., there have been some vegetation fires recently and the Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue has issued a "no burning within city limits."

The NWS Wilmington NC issued a report at 5:19 p.m. on Monday for strong thunderstorms until 6 p.m. The alert is for Inland Brunswick and Coastal Brunswick as well as Columbus County.

On Friday at 1:30 p.m. a fire weather watch was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC valid for Saturday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The watch is for Martin, Pitt, Greene, Duplin and Lenoir counties.
