Jacksonville State football has found its newest head coach. The Gamecocks are hiring Charles Kelley, according to multiple reports. It ended a search that started on Dec. 18 as former coach Rich Rodriguez left for the head coaching role at his alma mater West Virginia.

The Auburn football team may be losing a key member of its coaching staff next fall. Co-defensive coordinator Charles Kelly, who vastly helped improve an inexperienced until a year ago, is expected to take the head coaching job at Jacksonville State next season.

A former offensive play-caller at Marshall who helped spur the Thunder Herd's monumental, 2022 upset-win at top-10 Notre Dame, Trickett is a former Florida State and West Virginia quarterback. He's coached at Florida Atlantic and spent this past season as passing game coordinator and tight ends coach for Clay Helton's Georgia Southern program.
