Wipro, India's fourth-largest software company, posted higher-than-expected second-quarter revenue on Thursday, helped by a revival in spending by its clients in the U.S. communications sector. The company's consolidated revenue fell 1% to 223.

Bengaluru-based IT services major Wipro posted a net profit of Rs 3,201 crore for the second quarter of FY25, up 21.3 per cent from a year ago. Profit was up 6.8 per cent quarter-on-quarter (Q-o-Q).

Wipro, a major IT company, has announced a proposal for a bonus issue of equity share s. The shareholders will get one bonus equity share of ₹2 for every fully paid-up equity share. Additionally, the company is set to issue one bonus American Depositary Share (ADS) for every one ADS held.

The IT company expects revenue from our IT Services business segment to be in the range of $2,607 million to $2,660 million in FY25.

During Q2 FY25, profit came at Rs 3,208.8 crore as against Rs 2,646.3 crore in the year-ago period. However, Wipro's revenue from operations fell 0.95 per cent (YoY) to Rs 22,301.6 crore from Rs 22,515.

Wipro's consolidated revenue for the July-September quarter decreased by 1%, amounting to Rs 22,302 crore, down from Rs 22,543 crore in the same quarter the previous year.
