At least three feminist activists have been detained for vandalising a monument outside the United Nations building in Geneva to protest Russia’s war against Ukraine and what they see as the UN's failure to stop the conflict.
The bodies of 403 soldiers were recovered from Donetsk Oblast, while 57 and 12 bodies were brought back from Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk oblasts. Another 31 bodies were repatriated from morgues in Russia.
Ukrainian forces have also been accused of executing Russian prisoners of war, but the number of such claims has been much smaller. Yuri Belousov says that the Ukrainian prosecution service treats such accusations "very seriously" and is investigating them - but so far no one has been charged.
The Kyiv Independent reported that Zelensky's announcement comes on the heels of Ukraine's parliament confirming on September 5 Andrii Sybiha as the new foreign minister after Dmytro Kuleba's resignation. It is all part of "a shift in Kyiv's diplomatic team amid the ongoing challenges posed by war," the outlet said.
