The first alpine skiing medal of the 2026 Winter Olympics will be handed out on Saturday in the men's downhill.

Alpine skiing has been on the Winter Games calendar since the fourth edition of the event in Germany, with downhill becoming a staple in 1948 in Switzerland. The mesmerizing speeds and incredible skill that competitors show while zooming down the slopes.

The women's Alpine skiing downhill event at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics will air on NBC and USA Network, and stream live on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms on Sunday, Feb. 8.
