The White House on Saturday released a letter from Vice President Kamala Harris’ doctor, US Army physician Joshua R. Simmons, stating that Harris is in “excellent health” and that she “possesses the physical and mental resiliency required to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.
The weekend trip is her second time in the battleground state after it was struck by Hurricane Helene, with Harris stepping back into campaign mode in a place that many Democrats see as a potential pick-up in November’s election.
Trump has released very little health information, including after his ear was grazed by a bullet during an assassination attempt in July in Pennsylvania.
According to the Times, the former president’s offensive remark came during a dinner with donors at his penthouse apartment last month. Among the donors present were Trump’s former education secretary Betsy DeVos and her husband, along with hedge fund manager Paul Singer, investment banker Warren Stephens and billionaire Joe Ricketts.
