THE FINAL HOME for Rory Gallagher’s €1 million signature Fender Stratocaster guitar will be Cork. That is according MD of MCD, Denis Desmond who was one of the people instrumental in purchasing the guitar at auction on Thursday in London and donating the guitar to the National Museum of Ireland (NMI).

The trio also bought Gallagher’s Vox AC30 amplifier for £25,600 (€30,000) and the Dallas Rangemaster treble booster, which had a guide price of £1,200 and went for £12,800 (€15,371). They will go on display with the guitar.
