Police in suburban Des Plaines were searching for a bicyclist who stabbed a driver during a road rage incident on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

A 53-year-old Skokie man told police that he and a man on a bicycle got into a dispute as he drove westbound on Miner Street through downtown around noon. That’s when he says the cyclist started punching him and then slashed him several times.

DES PLAINES, Ill. — A 53-year-old Skokie man is recovering after police say he and an unidentified bicyclist were involved in a road rage incident, which resulted in a stabbing.

Police said the bicyclist and driver exchanged words when the driver saw the bicyclist going the wrong way down Miner Street, and the bicyclist ended up stabbing the driver.

A driver and bicyclist got into a heated argument before the bicyclist attacked the driver with a knife, according to authorities. On October 11, around 12:15 p.m., officials responded to the 1500 block of Miner Street to a Skokie man suffering stab wounds to his left arm.
