Phoenix — Phoenix officers repeatedly punched and shocked a deaf Black man with a Taser nearly two months ago when they responded to a call that the man had committed an assault at a convenience store, according to body camera footage.

A deaf Black man with cerebral palsy faces charges after an incident in which two White officers repeatedly punched and tased him in a Circle K parking lot in Phoenix.

The August incident is under investigation by the police department's internal affairs division and is being reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
