A Powerball player in California missed out on the $163 million jackpot but still won $29,466, lottery officials said. The ticket in the Dec. 30 drawing matched four winning Powerball numbers plus the Powerball, according to the California Lottery.

The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $62 million with a cash option of $27.7 million, according to the Mega Millions website.
