The Shoe Fire burning northeast of Shasta Lake in northern California has grown to 400 acres. The vegetation fire is burning on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in the Sulanharas Creek near the Madrone Campground.
Update: Shoe Fire in Shasta County spreads to 4,186 acres, remains 8% contained
Shoe Fire initially started 1:18 p.m. Oct. 9 in Shasta County. Since its discovery nine days ago, it has burned 4,186 acres, an increase of seven acres since the last update. By Friday morning, a crew of 485 firefighters effectively contained 8% of the fire.
