If the sequel system is stronger than the original Switch, some recent gems could make their way to the console

With the Nintendo Switch 2 launching this year, a long-speculated, much anticipated launch title seems more likely than ever.

For one, Nintendo promised "a closer look at Switch 2" in a Direct video presentation scheduled for April 2. It would be a little weird for that "closer look" to come after the console itself was launched, so a launch before April seems out of the question.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 console confirmed to release in 2025, speculation about how much it will cost has already begun.

Based on how the first Nintendo Switch launch went down, customers may be able to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 at the earliest in June 2025.

The only Nintendo-published game confirmed for Switch 2 at this time is a new Mario Kart.

Nintendo has dropped a first-look trailer for the Switch 2, and some gamers are wondering if its design is too similar to the original.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to arrive with upgraded features, like an overall bigger size with a larger LCD touchscreen, Joy-Con controllers, and a kickstand. It will be backward compatible so current Nintendo Switch 1 owners can play most of their own games when they upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2.

The original Switch came out in March of 2017 with a $299 price tag. Leaks and rumors suggest the Switch 2 could release in June of 2025. The price will likely fall somewhere between $399 and $499 USD.
