The Greenbrier Hotel is once again up for auction due to default, according to a Notice of Trustee’s Sale posted by West Virginia Daily News in Lewisburg. According to the Notice, there was a default under the terms agreed upon under the Deed of Trust.

A second legal notice in Gov. Jim Justice’s hometown newspaper announcing another impending auction of his historic Greenbrier Resort is merely a formality, Justice said as his family continues to work with a lender to keep the hotel.

The sale is listed for 2 p.m. Oct. 25 on the front door of The Greenbrier County Courthouse in Lewisburg. The ask is for cash in hand to be paid on the day of the sale.

Owned by the Gov. Jim Justice’s family, the Greenbrier was up for public auction in August after JP Morgan Chase sold the $9.4 million debt owed by the owners to Beltway Capital, which then set an auction date to collect the debt.

According to the Notice, there was a default under the terms agreed upon under the Deed of Trust. It did not state any details regarding the reported default. The scheduled date for the auction of The Greenbrier is October 25,
