Steve Wilks has agreed to terms with the Jets to become their new defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Wednesday.

Glenn was hired as the next head coach of the Jets earlier this month after a four-year run as the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator. The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh in the middle of last season. Glenn said earlier this week that he will not call defensive plays, so that will presumably fall to Wilks.

Wilks previously spent one season as the head coach of the Cardinals, going just 3-13 en route to the No. 1 overall pick landing in Arizona for the 2019 NFL Draft. Wilks was fired which prompted the hire of Kliff Kingsbury and eventual selection of Kyler Murray.
