Before this new opening, Costco shoppers in the area had to drive considerable distances—31 miles to Auburn Hills, 32 miles to Green Oak Township, or 45 miles to East Lansing.

Costco is set to open four stores across the country this week, expanding the wholesale warehouse's footprint. Two stores are set to open in Texas while others will open in Michigan and Massachusetts. The company opened two stores in California late last week.

Now, they can return to their local Costco food court to order the long-awaited sandwich once again in a few days — and hope it becomes a permanent fixture, like the $1.50 Kirkland hot dogs.
