The New Jersey Devils were off on Wednesday, but clinched their spot in the NHL playoffs anyway. With the New York Rangers loss to the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday night, New Jersey locked up the third spot in the Metropolitan Division in the Altantic Conference.
