A Russian strike targeted a nursing home in the Ukrainian-captured town of Sudzha in Russia's Kursk Oblast on Feb. 1, according to Ukraine's military. The building, which served as a shelter, primarily housed elderly residents.

"At the time of the attack, dozens of local residents were inside the building preparing to evacuate," Ukraine's military said on Feb. 1, adding that nearly 95 people could be trapped under the rubble.

The Ukrainian army said four people were killed and dozens - many of them elderly - were injured in the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region, which has been under Ukrainian control for five months. More than 80 people are reported to have been rescued from the building.
