Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called up BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput to inquire about their well-being after they sustained injuries during a scuffle between the opposition and ruling alliance at the Parliament entrance,

Faceoff erupted between BJP and the Congress leaders in Parliament after both INDIA Alliance and NDA MPs were carrying out their respective protests over Ambedkar row.

Two MPs of the Bhartiya Janata Party ( BJP ) have been seriously injured after a physical attack by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi , during the Ambedkar Issue protest in the Parliament. The injured BJP MPs are currently in the hospital and in a latest update,

Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput — suffered head injuries in a face-off between the opposition and NDA members in Parliament premises over the alleged insult to B R Ambedkar left.

BJP MP Phangnon Konyak also requested protection from Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankar and submitted a notice in that regard.

The incident occurred amid protests by both sides over remarks by Home Minister Amit Shah, which the Opposition claimed disrespected B.R. Ambedkar. BJP MPs countered by accusing Congress of insulting Ambedkar,
