Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has signed a bill into law that will require school districts to create a mandatory religious instruction release time policy and require educators to out a students’ sexuality to their parents.

Under House Bill 8, school officials will have to tell parents if their child asks to be identified by a different gender or is exposed to explicit content.

House Bill 206 lets school boards establish protocol allowing superintendents to expel students who pose a threat to the health and safety of other students and school employees.
