A very small population of 2025 Porsche Taycan vehicles feature iffy central computer software, with said cars going against the requirements of FMVSS 111

Porsche has issued a recall affecting more than 27,000 of its Taycan electric vehicles due to the risk of a short circuit in one of the battery’s cell block modules. The recall, reported by The Verge,

Porsche Taycan electric vehicles are recalled the high-voltage battery may experience a short circuit within the battery pack. This creates a risk of fire.

Some of the EVs may experience a short circuit within certain battery modules, increasing the risk of a “thermal event”. In order to avoid the hustle, Porsche advises owners to “only charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% battery capacity until the repair has been completed”.

Similar to the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT from Audi, the Porsche Taycan has also been hit with a safety recall over battery-related concerns
