Gov. Greg Abbott is expected to hold a media briefing in north Austin on the state's response to severe winter weather that will impact Texas on Wednesday, according to a release from Abbott's office.

Gov. Greg Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to get state resources ready as severe winter weather impacts the state.

Because temperatures will be at or below freezing for much of the state all week, Governor Abbott has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate state emergency response resources.
