The chair of the Texas House Democratic caucus remained defiant Thursday in the face of one US senator’s bid to enlist the FBI’s help in returning him and his state House colleagues to the state.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says the FBI is tracking down Democratic lawmakers who fled the state. Those who accepted money to help fund their effort to block a vote on redistricting could face prosecution,

The Republican senator, who is facing a tough primary challenge, previously asked FBI Director Kash Patel for the agency’s help in tracking down the House lawmakers.
