Special envoy Steve Witkoff and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee visited food distribution sites in Gaza on Friday, as the United States seeks to establish a plan to get more humanitarian aid into the war-torn enclave.

International organizations have said the Palestinian enclave has been on the brink of famine for the past two years.

President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy became the first high-profile U.S. official to visit Gaza since the war began, touring a U.S.-backed aid operation on Friday that the United Nations says is partly to blame for deadly conditions in the enclave.
