Tyler Harris joined the Nebraska Kearney football program in February 2024 and serves as passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. He replaces Moses Harper who was named head coach at Division II Lincoln (Mo.) University.

Colby Ellis joined Nebraska Kearney football in January 2023 and serves as the Lopers offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. In 2023, he coached record setting quarterback TJ Davis who ended his career with numerous school-records and four All-MIAA honors.

Nate Baker joined the Nebraska Kearney football program in January 2023 and serves as offensive line coach and run game coordinator. UNK suffered an array of injuries up front in 2023 but the offense still managed to average nearly 20 points and 303 yards per game.

Dec 12, 2024 · – The Nebraska Kearney football team will play five home games in 2025 including the 74th all-time meeting with Chadron State. The Lopers kickoff its 119th regular season on August 28 (Thursday) with a trip to Wayne State. This is the first time UNK and the Wildcats have met on the gridiron since 2011 and marks the 85th game between the two.

Oct 19, 2024 · UNK out gained Mo West by a 425-322 margin and ran three more plays than the Griffs. Converting 2 of 6 fourth downs, the Lopers saw see the defense bow up on their side of the ball as Mo West was only 3 of 10 on third down and 1 of 2 on fourth downs.

Ryan Held was named the 19th head football coach in Nebraska Kearney school-history on Dec. 20, 2022. "I can't tell you how fired up I am to be the next head football coach at UNK.
