Trooper Recruit Class B-2021 continues to complete week-after-week at the DPS Training Academy, and we continue to be pleased with their progress. DPS offers the best statewide specialized training to our Highway Patrol Troopers in order to implement during their everyday patrol duties. One of the trainings Troopers receive is how to deploy stop sticks in order to safely stop vehicles who are evading. A suspected human smuggler who evaded was safely stopped after a successful tire deflation deployment.
